Part of his life was dedicated to the study and progress of photographic techniques and photo development by means of bromid oil.
He was member of the Photography Community of Lisbon and of the French Photography Society. He participated in the Salon of Paris (1930, 1931, 1933, 1934 and 1937), in the Exhibition of Chicago (1932), Exhibition of Madrid (1932), Exhibition of Lucerne (1934) and in the Exhibition of the National Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon (1931 – 1st price).
As a person he was very sensible and caring for others. His main subject for photos were the farmers, the workers and mendicants which came to the property asking for charity or food.
